Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the RANPICK website ranpick.com (the “Site”) and the RANPICK iOS and Android apps (the “Apps”) handle personal information, as required by Article 30 of Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act. In short: apart from what you choose to write in a bug report, we do not collect personal information. The Site keeps short-lived access logs and uses Google Analytics for visit statistics; the Apps use Google Firebase for usage statistics, crash reports and draw-result notifications, and show Google AdMob ads to stay free. My Numbers, QR scanning and the Apps’ nearby-store calculation are processed only on your device.
1. What we collect and why
The Site has no sign-up, login or comments. The only information you send us yourself is a bug report (below); we do not collect your name, email address, phone number or similar personal information otherwise.
To run the service and keep it secure, the following may be recorded automatically in server logs:
| Items | IP address, time of access, requested page address, browser and device type |
|---|---|
| Purpose | Diagnosing failures, blocking abnormal access and excessive requests, improving the service |
| Retention | Up to 3 months from the day recorded, then deleted automatically |
Reports sent through the Site’s bug report & feedback page and the Apps’ bug report screen are handled as follows:
| Items | Report type and message, contact address (only if you enter one), Site or App version, OS and device (browser) type, the screen you reported from, and an irreversible hash of your IP address mixed with a server secret. The IP address itself is not stored. |
|---|---|
| Purpose | Confirming and fixing problems, replying if you left a contact address, and preventing excessive submissions from one place |
| Retention | 1 year from receipt, then deleted automatically |
2. Visitor analytics (Google Analytics) and cookies
To learn which pages are viewed and how often, the Site uses Google Analytics, provided by Google. It stores a cookie in your browser and sends the following to Google. It does not include information that directly identifies you, such as your name or email address.
| Items | A randomly generated browser identifier (cookie _ga), page address, time of visit, browser, device and screen size, approximate location at country or city level, referral source |
|---|---|
| Purpose | Understanding visitor numbers and popular pages, improving the service |
| Recipient | Google LLC (United States). The information is transferred to and processed on Google’s servers. |
| Retention | Up to 14 months under our Google Analytics settings; the cookie lasts up to 2 years |
If you prefer, block cookies in your browser settings or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. The Site works the same either way. We do not use advertising cookies or other tracking scripts.
3. Information used only on your device (My Numbers, QR scanning, nearby stores)
- My Numbers: Lotto numbers you save are kept only in your browser’s storage (localStorage) and are never sent to the server. Clearing your browser data deletes them.
- QR scanning: The camera view and any photo you upload are used only to read the QR code inside your browser; they are not stored or sent. The camera turns on only when you allow it.
- Stores near me: If you allow it, your current location, rounded to three decimal places (about 100 m), is put in the page address and sent to the server, which uses it only to sort nearby stores. That address may appear in the access logs described in section 1.
4. RANPICK apps (iOS and Android)
The Apps have no sign-up or login either. They use the following Google services. They do not send information that directly identifies you, such as your name, email address or phone number.
| Usage statistics | Firebase Analytics: a randomly generated app-instance identifier, screens viewed and features used, app version, device type and OS, language, approximate location at country or city level. Used to see which screens are used and to improve the Apps. Kept for up to 14 months. |
|---|---|
| Crash reports | Firebase Crashlytics: error traces when the app freezes or crashes, device type and OS, app version, a random installation identifier. Used only to fix errors. Kept for 90 days. |
| Draw notifications | Firebase Cloud Messaging: a device token needed to receive notifications. Used only to announce new winning numbers; it is no longer used once you turn notifications off or delete the app. |
| Ads | Google AdMob: advertising identifier (Android advertising ID; on iOS the IDFA only if you allow tracking), device type and OS, app version, approximate location inferred from the IP address, and records of ads viewed or tapped. Used to show ads and measure their performance. Retained according to Google’s policies. Where consent is required (such as the EEA and UK), you are asked first. |
| Recipient | Google LLC (United States). The information is transferred to and processed on Google’s servers. |
If you do not want personalized ads, on Android delete or reset your advertising ID in Settings > Google > Ads; on iOS turn off tracking for RANPICK in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. You will still see ads, but they will not be personalized.
- My Numbers: Numbers and notes you save are stored only inside the app and are never sent to a server. Deleting the app deletes them.
- QR scanning: The camera turns on only when you allow it, and the image is used only to read the QR code on your device.
- Nearby 1st-prize stores: If you allow it, the app uses your current location to find nearby stores on your device; your location is not sent to RANPICK’s servers. The map is drawn by NAVER Maps (NAVER Cloud), so while you view the map, requests for map images go to NAVER.
- When the Apps fetch winning numbers, requests go to Donghaeng Lottery and RANPICK’s server and may appear in the access logs described in section 1.
You can turn off location, camera and notification permissions at any time in your device settings; the rest of the app keeps working.
5. Sharing with third parties and outsourcing
Except for Google Analytics (section 2) and Google Firebase, Google AdMob and NAVER Maps (section 4), RANPICK does not provide any information, including access logs, to other people or companies, nor outsource its processing, unless a law-enforcement or other authority lawfully requests it under applicable law.
When you follow a link to another site such as Donghaeng Lottery or NAVER Map, that site’s privacy policy applies from then on.
6. Your rights
The only personal information RANPICK keeps itself is access logs and bug reports. To check or delete your access records or a report you sent, contact us at the address below. We will tell you the result within 10 days.
7. How we keep it safe
